Embarking on Quests: Crafting an Immersive Journey Through Chinese Mythology

Embarking on Quests: Crafting an Immersive Journey Through Chinese Mythology

My journey began with a deep passion for gaming, which fueled my desire to create a mobile game that could captivate a wide audience. Observing the growing popularity of mobile gaming among young adults seeking portable entertainment in their busy lives, I realized the need for accessible and engaging experiences. This inspired me to develop an immersive game centered around Chinese mythology, offering features such as intricate quests, challenging daily missions, competitive arenas, and dynamic building systems. My goal was to blend rich storytelling with interactive gameplay, providing players with a unique and captivating journey through ancient legends and mythical worlds.

Iteration 1:

Iteration 1:

In the first iteration of my high-fidelity design, I focused on creating a cohesive and visually unified interface. I designed unicolor buttons and streamlined the overall aesthetic to ensure consistency and ease of use. My goal was to incorporate cultural and thematic elements to the game, providing a polished and engaging user experience that reflects the rich heritage of Chinese mythology.

Iteration 2:

Iteration 2:

In the second iteration, based on usability testing feedback, I adjusted some UI button colors to better guide users and enhance navigation. Additionally, I introduced more contrast throughout the interface to improve visibility and create a more dynamic visual experience.

Combat Buttons Layout

I provided users with two navigation menu options: a bottom menu and a sideways menu. They chose their preferred option and shared detailed feedback, allowing me to make an informed design decision that met their needs.

Combat Buttons Layout

I collected user feedback on combat button layout, asking if it felt cluttered. Original layout had party bottom left, navigation above, with middle screen clear. If cluttered, asked if they preferred party center-bottom and navigation bottom-left.
